January 12, 2016
2015 was a spectacular year, full of so many joyful memories! With a completely full calendar of weddings it certainly was a busy one, but as I look back on all these images I’m reminded of how lucky I am to be part of so many special days. Over the next few weeks each wedding will be featured with more detail, but for now a glimpse of 2015…
The Knot – Best of Weddings 2016
To start things off, I’m thrilled to announce that for the second consecutive year Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Events was selected for The Knot Best of Weddings! I could not be more grateful for all the brides and grooms who made that happen! Only the top 2% of wedding professionals are given this award, making it so incredibly special to receive.
Falyn & Zach
Venue: 9th Street Abby, Photography: Jess Vanny Photography, Florist: Belli Fiori
These two had such a sweet and simple blush wedding day full of so much love and affection. An absolutely perfect start to the wedding season!
Katie & Mike
Venue: Windows on Washington, Florist: Kirkwood Florist, Photography: Arndt Photo & Cinema
For Katie & Mike it was so much about family. While the guest size was possibly my largest to date, every single person there was important to them. The picture of Katie and her Mom during her Dad’s toast so perfectly captures the feeling of the day. Everyone there was family!
Micaela & Mike
Venue: Peabody Opera House, Florist: Elegance in Bloom, Photography: Laura Ann Miller
I am convinced there will never again be a bride as fashionable as Micaela. When she put on that crystal cape everyone’s jaw was on the floor. The complete gallery from the day is flawless, but that moment where Mike is escorting her down the glass stairs at the St. Louis Downtown Library will forever be one of my favorite wedding images of all time.
Michelle & Sam
Venue: Glen Echo Country Club, Florist: Poppies Design Studio, Photography: Untamed Heart
This couple is the definition of boho chic. Effortless, sophisticated, and full of sweet love. Their watercolor guest book map could not be more perfect for the adventurous life they lead. So glad the rain held off for this gorgeous day!
Kristen & James
Venue: Missouri Military Academy, Florist: Addie Jane, Photography: Laura Ann Miller
Mexico Missouri is usually a little outside our typical venue distance, but I loved that Kristen & James wanted to be married at a place so special to both of them. The day was so intimate with lots of unique details. You will definitely be seeing more of them soon as their wedding is being featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs!
Allie & John
Venue: Private Ladue Residence, Florist: Les Bouquets, Photography: Jessa Anderson
A close family friend generously offered to host Allie and John’s nuptials and garden soiree. Set at the sprawling Ladue estate, the whole day was one that radiated intimacy and a spirit of closeness. To combat the horrible July heat, guests were given hand fans that echoed the design of the stationery that was designed by the bride herself. The cozy tent reception which was situated on the other side of the manor, a short walk from the garden, overlooked the estate’s pond. Allie and John’s involvement leading up to their wedding day speaks to the personal feel that was undeniable throughout the day.
Beth & Chen
Venue: Third Degree Glass Factory, Florist: Garden Party and David, Photography: Conner Photography
If Taylor Swift makes an appearance, you know it was an amazing wedding! Ok, so she wasn’t really there… but the day still rocked! I don’t think there was a moment where Beth & Chen weren’t laughing, that’s how much fun this day was! Sunflowers, ice cream, and so much dancing!
Madeline & Neal
Venue: The Thaxton, Florist: Poppies Floral Design, Photography: BGI
When Madeline first contacted me about planning and designing her vision for an Art Deco wedding my heart instantly started fluttering. I love when a bride is will to go outside the box and try something new, and Madeline was completely on board. The day was full of lavish vintage stylings, including an opulent candlelit head-table, the most amazing macaroon desserts, a dazzling Rolls-Royce, and most importantly – a madly in love couple!
Krisha & Mike
Venue: Ritz Carlton, Florist: Sisters Floral Design Studio, Photography: Jen & Dayton Photography
Krisha & Mike’s wedding was the epitome of classic sophistication. I love how we filled the incredibly elegant day with red, gold, and champagne accents. When in Rome!
Cara & Josh
Venue: Cara’s Dad’s Farm, Florist: Arnold Florist, Photography: J&A Photography
You really can not get much more personal than a home wedding at your Dad’s farm. We placed a tent in the middle of his field and guests watched the romantic sun set over many miles of land. Cara and Josh have such a pure and true kind of love, and their day fully reflected that. At the end of the night the newlyweds drove off in a vintage car while friends and family floated away lanterns.
Taylor & Zachary
Venue: Missouri History Museum, Florist: Les Bouquets, Photography: Jason Winkeler
Sometimes life is funny and you get two back to back weddings at the same venue. Despite having the same location and the same florist, it was amazing to see the variation which is possible in a classic space like the Missouri History Museum. Taylor and Zach toasted their guests with such gorgeous hues of blush and classic details that we were completely smitten!
Brooke & Steve
Venue: Missouri History Museum, Florist: Les Bouquets, Photography: Susan Jackson
Brooke chose to accent her Missouri History Museum wedding with raspberry, which was the essence of perfection! It was a fun and timeless affair that this couple will cherish forever.
Samantha & Josh
Venue: Missouri Botanical Garden, Florist: Bloomin’ Buckets, Photography: Lisa Hessel
Samantha & Josh opted for a simple day. They invited a select group of close friends and family members to dance under the stars with them on the patio of the Spink Pavilion. Swoon!
Kelsey & Zach
Venue: Missouri Athletic Club, Florist: Victorian Gardens, Photography: Alea Lovely
Sometimes a bride comes along who redefines the level of trust and closeness I cherish having with my clients. There is no doubt in my mind that Kelsey and her hubby will have the most spectacular life together. P.s. If you are wondering how to pull of mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses, this is it!
Grace & Sean
Venue: Chaumette Winery, Florist: Elegance In Bloom, Photography: George Street
I’ve known Grace for many years, so when she asked me to help plan her fall winery wedding I was completely flattered! It was one of those rare fall days where the leaves where the leaves are the absolute perfect color with just the right crisp in the air. I had tears of joy for most of the day watching the sweet girl marry this handsome man and have the wedding of her dreams!
Sarah & Brian
Venue: Wine Country Gardens, Florist: Soulard Florist, Photography: Essencia Photography
Sarah could not have looked more gorgeous in that blush colored gown! Their bridal party was so much fun to hang out with and Sarah & Brian’s love kept us warm through the chilly day.
Whitney & Kyle
Venue: Chandler Hill, Florist: Elegance In Bloom, Photography: Cindy Lee
One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to assist out-of-town couples with their wedding planning. For Whitney and Kyle, frequently traveling in from Texas just wasn’t an option. As a full service client, helping them with everything from vendor recommendations to colors and design resulted in the most wonderfully intimate and rustic fall wedding.
Erin & Brad
Venue: Neo on Locust, Florist: Les Bouquets, Photography: Carretto Studio
When Erin Stubblefield Photography asks you to plan her wedding, you say yes, and then squeal with excitement! Every single detail was perfect. The dress: perfect. The dessert bar: perfect. The feast table: perfect! Are you sensing a trend here?
Pam & Bill
Venue: New Town Event Tent, Florist: Elegance In Bloom, Photography: Jen & Dayton Photography
Sweet Pam & Bill had the best day ever! No seriously, it was 60+ outside in the middle of November. Plus they were surrounded by so much quirky love and throwback dance music that everyone had a blast!
Megan & Spencer
Venue: The Boo Cat Club, Florist: Elegance In Bloom, Photography: Laura Ann Miller, Stationery: Hello World Paper Co.
This post would not be complete without a little snippet about my own wedding day! Although I’m 100% biased, it truly was an absolutely perfect day. It has been about six weeks and we still cannot stop talking about how wonderful it all was. We were surrounded by so much love and support, including our amazing vendors who each went above and beyond for us. We are so lucky!
This past year has been such a dream, and I can’t wait to see what 2016 will bring!
