If you’re anything like me, holiday weekends always sneak up and of course that’s the week you have a million other things on your to-do list. So it’s no surprise this Labor Day was no different. For me it’s officially the “kick-off” of fall wedding season and my thoughts are consumed with escort cards and dress fittings. I had a grand total of one hour today to come up with a cocktail plan for our last minute party on Sunday and it couldn’t have been more perfect timing for an amazing package to arrive and save the day!
The leadership team for Creative Chics received samples of the new DRY Sparkling flavors this week and I am OBSESSED! They are completely delicious just as they are, but of course I was instantly brainstorming fun cocktails I could create with them. Plus the company is founded by a stay-at-home mom is Seattle, which I love! The fun flavors include Apple, Vanilla Bean, Lavender, Watermelon, Cucumber and more. I decided that instead of limiting guests, I would pick up fun mixers and let each person customize their own. The possibilities are endless, but here are four great ideas to get you started:
- Lavender Spritzer
Fill your favorite champagne glass with Sofia Sauvignon Blanc and top with a splash of Lavender DRY Sparkling. Garnish with a sprig of lavender and you’re set!
2. Cucumber Mojito
Ingredients:
- 2-inch slice of cucumber, quartered
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tsb sugar
- 1 small lime, juiced
- 2 oz clear rum
- Cucumber DRY Sparkling
In a sturdy glass muddle the cucumber, mint leaves and sugar. Fill the glass with ice then add lime juice and rum. Top with Cucumber DRY Sparkling and serve with a fun straw!
3. Watermelon Soda
Combine chilled champagne and Watermelon DRY Sparkling in a flute and garnish with a basil leaf to balance the flavors. Perfect for the end of summer!
4. Fuzzy Cucumber Lemonade
In a tall glass add 6 oz lemonade, 2 oz vodka & 2 oz Cucumber DRY Sparkling. Fill with ice and garnish with a cucumber slice and a bright colored straw. I could sip on these all day!
I hope you enjoy trying these cocktails over Labor Day weekend and if you have a minute you can watch the replay of my FB Live video showing you how I styled them. Maybe you’ll even love these enough to “Fancy Another?”
